Buxar is one of the 38 districts in Bihar. It is one of the 6 districts of Patna division. The head quarter of the district is Buxar . It has 11 blocks. The total population of the district is 1,402,396 and the area is 1,624 sqkm. Rich Paddy Fields, Wheat, Maize and Sugar Cane are the main agricultural crops. Rice and Oil Mills is the main industry. Ganga and Karmnasha are the main river. The literacy rate is 56.8% . The female literacy rate is 39.88% . The male literacy rate is 71.92% .
